From Lichen-Covered to Like-New
Location: Boundary Rd, New Windsor
A Coloursteel roof in New Windsor had suffered extensive lichen growth. In the photos you can see the damage caused by the lichen roots eating into the coloursteel coating. Our team at Cowperthwaite Roof Restorations restored the roof to its original strength and appearance with a thorough treatment and refinishing process.
What We Did:
Step 1: Moss Treatment & Cleaning
We applied a specialised moss treatment to kill off the lichen at its roots. Once the treatment had time to work, we pressure cleaned the entire roof to remove all remaining growth and debris.
Step 2: Repairs & Rust Treatment
Next, we carried out essential repairs, re-nailing areas where required and treating any rust-affected sections. Small rust repairs were also completed to ensure the roof was fully protected.
Step 3: Three-Coat System
To restore the roof’s durability and appearance, we applied one primer coat for adhesion and protection, followed by two satin topcoats in Pioneer Red for a long-lasting, fresh finish.
Project Result:
A fully restored, weather-resistant Coloursteel roof upgrade with a smooth, durable finish that enhances both protection and curb appeal.
